Cleaning Seat Belts

While my cab is stripped (and when I have both hands again), I want to put in a matching set of three seat belts. I have them, but they are stiff and grungy. What cleans/softens them up well but doesn't ruin them (eat them up)?

Put them in a pillowcase and then wash them in your washer.

I actually had an extra bottle of KN air filter cleaner that I used to soak the seat belts. Then used hot soapy water. After I let them dry they looked sooooooo good.
