crossmember swap with orig 6 cyl?

Has anyone swaped to either a 71-72 or 73 up front end and kept the original 230/250?were you able to reuse the original mount set up?

I put disk brakes on a 63 sb that has a 292 6 cylinder a few years back. I used 71-72 spindles, ball joints, and tie rod with the 63 a-arms and crossmember. The rotors and calipers were 72, the brake hoses from a late 60's Impala wagon and the rmaster cylinder from a mid 70's 1/2 ton. You could probably hang all the suspension from a 72-87 on the original cross member. I found most all the brake and suspension stuff was interchageable from 72-87 trucks and late 60's to mid 70's wagons.

At the same time I was messing with the 63 I also owned an 83. The crossmembers looked the same, but I didn' verify it. Don't know if this helps. If you are interested I can find my notes from that project.
