tilt column

what I would like to do is use an after market tilt steering column
with the origional steerig box
can it be done
how

You would just use it in the box instead of the column. Cut the column about 6 inches above the box and cut through the steering shaft. then cut abut 2 inches down and do not cut through the steering shaft. You want to end up with the tube at the wide poing and about 2 inches of shaft above that. Then file two flats on it to accept a 3/4" DD ujoint. Slide the conversion bearing onto the shaft tap into the cloumn.

You will need a 3/4x3/4 DD ujoint, a short 3/4" DD shaft and a 3/4" DD X 1" DD ujoint for the new column. The new DD shaft length depends on where ou set the cloumn.
