What solutions have you guys used behind the open areas in the upper cab corners for insulation of sound? Is there any reason not to put something up there? Thanks.

If you are convinced that you have absolutely no leaks of any kind up there, then I can't see why a fella couldn't use some of that spray foam.
In fact.....now that you got me thinkin', I'll be doin' just that.
That's a great way to deal with the noise.....plus some extra "R" value for the hot/cold issues.

I was considering that myself when I get to that point. I would imagine that making sure it was leak free would be paramount. I guess you could also stuff it with fiberglass or foam. At least ot would be removable.

The spray in foam is what I was thinking. I was wondering about doing a liner of some sort, plastic or something, so that it wouldn't get wet if it did leak. The area in mine is in good shape rust wise, so I don't think I have any leaks. I do know that my cab is loud and anything I can do to hush it up a little I would like to do.

I just updated this thread, I decided against the spray in foam, I am spraying sound dampening undercoating into the recessed areas of my cab in an attempt to keep the noise down.....without attracting rust. Kieth

I used home depot roof repair material for the sound deadening material ($ 1.25 sq ft) and then added air duct insulation over that about the same $1.25 sq ft. this really quieted the cab down. The question asked in this thread was about those areas that you cannot get to (top back wall, roof, etc. in the cab. I just sprayed as much sound deadener / undercoating as I could get into the roof and back of the cab. trying to quieten it down, still does not do much for the insulation but it did help.

Thanks for the replies and the links, very interesting. I don't think I will be doing any of the spray foam, just the sound deading sprays and maybe a loud stereo

careful use of "RIGHT STUF" and an empty plastic jar make for a very cool hidden compartment, should you need one.
