3"/5" drop, front higher

Just got my rear springs in and now my front is sitting 1/4" higher.
Used cpp springs.
I am adding the adj rear track bar which will lower the rear another 1/4". Aldo swaping to a blazer tank which will put more weight on the rear.

Someone said , "let the springs settle"
the fronts have been in the truck for almost 6 months. If anything "settles" I only see the rear going lower.

So my options are?
1. Cut front springs
2. Swap to 2" springs and drop spindles? ( costly)
or?

Re: 3"/5" drop, front higher

I've heard this alot from CPP products. I would be afriad cutting the front springs any more would cause problems. I would do a spindle/1" spring drop in front. Have you already converted to disc brakes?

I would go with #2 or at least the 2" drop springs.

Re: 3"/5" drop, front higher

Yes I have converted to disc,
as for tires I have new tires all around and want the same size for rotation, spare and speedo purposes.

Before I had cut stock springs in the front and it sat lower and rode ok,
I'm thinking 1/2 coil off the front would get me there.

cutting half a coil will yield approx 1" drop, a full coil 2" drop.

Re: 3"/5" drop, front higher

I wouldn't cut any more spring out of the front. You notice nobody sells 4" front lowering springs. That is because the spring will rattle around in the pocket. 3" is max and I advise my customers not to even do 3" because I feel the spring is too short. I would go to a drop spindle and 1" front lowering springs. WES

Re: 3"/5" drop, front higher

None has been cut from the front in those pics.
I have cut a half coil off and will get pics posted.
The rear is coming down another 3/8" due to the cpp long track bar installation.
With the old cut stock springs the front sat about 1" lower than it does now. The ride was acceptable to me.
I'll post pics in the next day or so with the 1/2" coil cut front.

Drop spindle and a 1" spring would put me where I am now. I need a drop spindle and a 2" spring, or bags I guess

Re: 3"/5" drop, front higher

Where are you measuring your drop? Center of fenderwells? You know they measure different from the factory right? Did you put on lowered shocks too? Everybody has their own tastes ya know but I'd raise the rear up an inch and drive the wheels off of it. It'll take the bumps and potholes better if you don't go any lower in the front. JMO

Re: 3"/5" drop, front higher

I want a little more rake. It was lower in the front before will stock shocks and cut springs. I drove it everyday and if wasn't bad to me, the rear was worse, it had heated coils and only one or two worked!
Yes I am measuring to the wheelwell center. I am comparing to the measurements before. It sits lower in the rear then before but a little higher in the front, then before, cut one half coil on one, still got to do the otherside.

Yes I added drop shocks. Toxic shocks front and rear.
Added shorter poly bumpstops as well.
Front also got shock brackets, '78 a arms, spindles, steering links, all new, new balljoints,
poly bushings, 1.25" sway bar.
Rear I am adding the cpp long panhard bar, shock relocating mounts.

I am use to driving camaros with stiff springs.
