Question 3" front lower which headers Full or Shorty's?

If I'm going to stay around a 3" lower in the front w/a 350SB would full lenght headers be a problem? Or.....should I run the shorties? Would like to get it right the first time and not have to swap out after! Thanx, Hutch

If your not dropping any more than that I dont see why you couldnt run full length headers. if you were dropped 5 or 6 then you should be worried.

If you're running an automatic trans, you should be able to get away with running either the passenger car headers like Kieth posted, or maybe the Hedman #69230 headers. Those are specified for a 4x4, but they don't hang below the frame.

Re: 3" front lower which headers Full or Shorty's?

I am almost at 5 inches of drop in the front and there is plenty of room in mine for full length headers. A set of headers to fit a late second gen F-body would actually be a good fit.

Re: 3" front lower which headers Full or Shorty's?

In my opinoin i would allways keep the exhaust system tucked up as much as possible, not just incase you get the lowering bug and go lower, but also the more you tuck the exhaust up the least likely you are to hit anything,

headman hedders 69640 seem to offer a good amount of clearence,

Re: 3" front lower which headers Full or Shorty's?

I really had not planned on lowering my truck a lot but I did want to make it tidy so along with the shorty headers I cut out the center crossmember on both sides so If I wanted I could route the exhaust even with the center of the frame. The only thing in the way is the stock e brake cable routing and that can be moved easily.
