1966 motor mounts
hi , i have a 1966 c10 gmc . iam changing from a six cylinder to a large block , does anyone have the perchs or the complete conversion for this or know where to buy this .. hope some one knows as iam anxious to put this motor in and rev her up..

Let me know what you come up with.doing the same thing 1966 chevy stepside.it had the perch mount to the frame.I have the other style motor mounts after 1973.I did a trila fit but it sits to low.hard to find the right stuff in canada,i"m from british columbia.

are you putting a big block in it? i know for the small blocks you just the the middle part out of the inline mount and bolt it straight to the block and it fits

Large block? or do you mean V8. There is the 350 SB and the 454 BB. There are other also but usually based off of those platforms. I put a 454. Here is my thread. Others chiped in with other options also. http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...d.php?t=259536

The cheapest way is to get a pair of 68-71 big block frame stands. They bolt into your current frame with no mods.

I just completed my big block 454 swap and I used the rubber motor mounts off the 250 6, bolted them to the block, and dropped it in. Should work the same for a small block...one of the many beautiful things about Chevy! lol

If you want to use the '73+ motor mounts, you will need a pair of frame brackets (perches) from a C20. They fit the frame height better than the '73+ C10 brackets. You will still need to trim the top flange of the frame back about 1/2" or so.
Or do as Tx Firefighter recommended, get a set of '68-'71 big block mounts
