Oil & Temp gauge won't work, along with headlights...
Hello,
I am new to this website. I had inherited a 1987 Custom Deluxe 30 1-ton truck from my grandfather. I am planning to sell this but I am unable to get the headlights, along with the temp/oil pressure gauges to work. I have installed a new temperature sensor and the gauge is still not moving. I thought I would ask around before trying to figure out the oil pressure gauge. As for the headlights: the running lights, parking lights and cab roof lights work but I'm unable to get the headlights themselves to work. Which fuse works the headlights? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you for your time and attention devoted to this thread. |

I don't think there is a fuse for the headlights just a self reseting breaker in the switch. You could have a bad switch or dimmer switch, dirty contacts at the lights, or simply dead bulbs.

Having a test light would help you sort through checking where you are getting power.

Thank you both for your replies.
I will buy a test light, I guess I could find one of those at my local Pep Boys/Auto Parts store. I will check for dirty contacts at the headlights, along with making sure I have good headlights. If that doesn't work I'll buy a new switch, since every other bulb on/in the truck works fine. As for the temperature sensor gauge: I believe I'm getting a connection, because when I unplugged the sensor the "Check Engine" light came on. Thanks again for your help. I'm trying to fix these little things before getting rid of the truck, so the new owner doesn't have to worry. |
