My wife's family owned the truck, she took her drivers test in it. The pictures above are of the wife and I loading the truck at her Dads ranch in Pendleton Oregon.

Thanks for sharing the final pictures and congrats on the awards. Your build is an inspiration to all of us working on ours. Your truck is one of the top builds I have seen.

Good luck on the next project, sounds like fun! My Dad is now wanting me to work on his 1928 Chevy National Series AB car after my build is done. I think it would be fun to dive into something that old.

If you do decide to take on the 1942 build please post here on your build thread. I would love to follow along.

Very nice throughout. I have been following your build for quite a while now. Congrats on the Chevy truck award, well deserved. That is quite a feather in your hat at a quality show like that. I hope to come down there next year with mine, I'd like to meet and shoot the breeze for a while. I am doing a similar thing as yours on my tailgate lettering. I'm not trying to copy anyone, I just like the idea and have had it planned for a while now. Enjoy your ride, it is beautiful.

Shortly after seeing your post about doing your bed wood, I had a guy stop by to commission me to do some artwork for some wood clocks he makes... Long story short, I ended up with this Cross Clock made out of Purple Heart wood... Just thought it was kinda cool and had to share...

That's awesome... I also do woodworking.. so not sure what exactly I am going to do with the bed in my truck... but the ideas are flowing!!!!

This truck is looking great. I never knew how far off the rear wheel was in the fender opening until I saw the picture. Man, that would have drove me nuts, too. That took a lot of knuckle-busting work to get it back where it needed to be. Moving crossmembers and drilling new holes 'aint fun!

Moving the trailing arm cross member was not to hard. I have an Early Classic CM, the frame had a extra hole forward 1 11/16 so I moved the CM to that hole and drilled the rest, shortened the drive line.

Did you do the driveline or did you have it done? If you had them done who did you have do it? I'm asking because I'm at the point of doing mine right now and looking for a good local source, if possible.

I thought I would give you all an update. I got the truck on the road last July, went to a few shows, and had a lot of fun. Now it's time to finish a few things and to change a few things.

Things to finish:

1. Install parking brake assembly (I hope I can find the parts)
2. Hook up the heater
3. Adjust the trany kick down

Things to change:

1. Lower the rear another 1.5" (to much rake)
2. Move the trailing arm cross member forward 1.750" (rear wheels not centered in wheel well) It just bugs me.
3. Change mufflers from a 22" body Magnaflows to 18" ( It just doesn't bark enough)
4. Remove bed wood, color sand and polish the clear coat (It's just not shiny enough)

Today I will remove the bed and get going. I should leave well enough alone
but I can't. I should probably seek professional help for my addiction.

haha i feel the exact same way right now.. i already want to change alot of stuff and i just got mine on the road. your truck is looking really good though!! it will be even better after the changes

When you see the truck in person it is 30 times prettier! Keith I was able to install the carrier without the bracket so I am good to go. Hope everything works out for your winter project! Keep us posted! T.J.

Get it the way you want it, by next year it will be just right. That truck is such a cool ride. Drive it and enjoy it. Maybe you will need a new project next year to mess with, and leave this one alone. I hope to see you in Puyallup next year.

I don't know if I will ever get to the point of completion. I will do another truck just don't know what it will be maybe a COE.
We have Puyallup on the calendar, it's a great show camping is real close and a lot of great rigs to look at.

I got the bed off yesterday and positioned the wheel 1 3/4" forward. I like it a lot better. So know I have to move the trailing arm cross member forward and drill new holes. There is a stock hole on the on the lower frame flange that is 1 3/4" forward. The only other thing that might give me problems is redrill the hole for the upper spring mount.

The first step of the winter remodel is complete. Removed the wood, color sand the clear coat to 4000 grit and polished. I would have done this after I shot the clear on the wood, but being wood and not sure how things would turn out I just give it some time 1 year.
