I forgot I added the red Holly fuel pump, no problems now, but the spacer was a great "fix it" ! ! !
Also on the Edelbrock 1406 I put the acc pump rod at the top hole and have a quicker throttle response response. I live at sea level and the humidity is 75%+ most all the time. So my adjustments may not work where you live.
