Bruceman 1968 got it. It's a 1954 Kaiser early Special. This car is #10 on the Kaiser Registry, so that makes it an early..early Special. The car is all there except the original oil-bath air cleaner is missing. All 4 original hub caps are inside the car. The old guy i got it from said he had it running. I have got the engine to turn over with a battery but it is not getting any spark, and i think the valves might be stuck, [a common Kaiser problem]. I'm not even sure if the hydra-matic transmission is any good, but they are the same transmission as a Buick, Olds, or Pontiac of the same vintage. And i have a few of those cars sitting around!

The 54 early Specials were left over un-sold 1953 Manhattans, so they had the fancy and better looking 53 interiors with "Bambu" vinyl on the seats, door panels, and even on the dash. What they basically did was take the left over 53's bolt the 54 front wrap on them, bolt on the 54 taillights, repaint the exterior [in this case Jade Mist/White], and install new vin and trim tags. I have been talking to the guys on the Kaiser forum and they say i have a pretty rare bird. The problem is these cars are impossable to find parts for! So i'm thinking it would be nice with a small block chevy, 700 r-4, air bags, etc. etc.. But this car is so rare i hate to do that to it! What do you guys think? I only gave $150.00 for the car so i guess i have some room to play with, whatever i decide to do! Anyway heres a couple of pics i found on the net, one is a restored interior same colors as mine, and the other one is a restored 54 early Special. Thanks guys. Joseph
