Not a big difference, maybe a little consistency in the thickness of the parts.
Chopper gun parts have a little more resin content, but are seamless in construction. The hand laid part will be pre-patterned and the material will be pre-cut to keep the layers very consistent. They tend to be a little lighter (not much, 1-2 lbs). The outside of the parts will look identical because they come from the same mold. It's really more of a time saving thing for the fabricator. Less time to make the part = cheaper labor = more cost effective.

The carbon fiber parts will be strictly for looks. They would normally be 30-40% more than the hand laid parts because the visual layer is so hard to make look good, and the material is a little more. These are not going to be aircraft quality auto clave parts, but will look like it when there done.

I work with another company that makes the best Carbon fiber valve covers and air cleaner covers I have ever seen. Maybe we can do a combo package.

Re: SLOSH TUBZ..bolt in inner fenders for 67-72 chevys

I've got about 300 miles on the road so far with mine and they are perfect. Took it to a car show last night and got a TON of compliments on them. I was sure to throw your name and business name out there and where to get in contact with you. More to follow with the BIG trip...

Re: SLOSH TUBZ..bolt in inner fenders for 67-72 chevys

Is it absolutely not possible to have a set redesigned/modified to accommodate the folks running with stock hood hinges?
I think without that you'll be limiting your market. IMHO.

Re: SLOSH TUBZ..bolt in inner fenders for 67-72 chevys

can you take a pic of yours with stock hinges when it is layed out and let me see where the tire is compared to the hood hinge , the problem with mine is the tire comes up totally through about 1/2 of the mounting point of the hinge. Of course all of this depends on tire size and how low you are, the nice thing about these is they are fiberglass / very easy to customize if you wanted to add a pocket for your hinge to set in . This first pic i am posting shows the truck before the Porterbuilt Dropmember, just bags and control arms, the second pic shows where the tubs come / compared to where the factory hood hinge bolted up, i will try to get pics tonight of the tire compared to the mounting area without the inner fender in

Re: SLOSH TUBZ..bolt in inner fenders for 67-72 chevys

Dam! I see what you mean now, even on bags and a pocket made to accommodate the hinge you may have scrub issues, and absolutely no way with a DM.
I'm not even at the air stage yet but I really want these instead of the exposed wheel thing under the hood, just didn't want to have to go to the trouble & extra expense of changing the hood hinges.
I'm still happy you've come up with these, they're great.
