Two different type of Inner Fenders

I'm currently looking at inner fenders and noticed there are two different types:

Mark's:

Re: Two different type of Inner Fenders

I ran into that too, not sure what the change was 62, or 63, but 61-60 def. have the smaller hod spring mount.
the later ones look to be stronger, the early one I had had a few stress cracks around the rivets holding on the spring mount.

That's amazing, in all the hundreds of engine compartments I've looked in I never once spotted the difference. The later design certainly looks to be much more substantial. Thanks for pointing it out. For anyone shopping for used inner fenders this is helpful information.

Dam now when I get home I'll have to look that up in the parts book. Working for a railroad contractor now, has me all over the place but home.

Yep, I discovered that several years ago. I'm not sure just what year the change happened either.

I ended up with another set of these.
Kinda cool if someone wants to be factory correct.

I thought I had posted these in the Classifieds of these forums. I can't seem to find it. After doing more research, I think they are only 60 & 61.

I wonder if there really is 3, or 62 was a mix of both.

Yeah, I don't think there are 3 different types.
I think 62 may have been when they used up the remaining stock of the 60-61's and then from then on they all used the 63-66 style.
It'd be nice to find one 62 with the 60-61 style to prove my theory. 🤔

Re: Two different type of Inner Fenders

I'm currently searching the forums for 62's. So far, out of 6, I found one.
Here's the thread:

Re: Two different type of Inner Fenders

Ok, I'm done. Out of 12 more, I found another.
I could continue, but I really think 62 was the transition year.
