Re: Brothers or Classic Parts

I haven't bought anything from Brother's in several years. ( I had a bad experience then), so I can't say how they are now. I ordered from Classic last month, everything was in stock and arrived in a couple of days with no problems.

Re: Brothers or Classic Parts

Just for closure... All the parts I ordered arrived yesterday. That's less than a week. Everything is good quality, nothing was back-ordered. Classic Parts will be getting more of my business.

Re: Brothers or Classic Parts

Just threw my Brother's catalogue away last week. Waited 5 weeks last winter for a disc brake and spindle kit, last two orders I cancelled after a two week wait because of back orders for what I consider as common parts (cab mount bushing kits, clutch rod boot).

I always look @ RockAuto.com first, amazed at all the parts they have available for the older trucks. Never had a back order, it shows how many are in stock before you place your order and shipping is very reasonable.

Re: Brothers or Classic Parts

I like them both. I've bought more from Brothers, but it just depends on what I'm looking for and whether they have a sale on something. I also like LMC.

Re: Brothers or Classic Parts

I don't have any experience with Brothers, but will put in a good word for Classic Parts. Classic Parts is only a 10-minute drive from my office in downtown KC. I normally call ahead and place my order then go by and pick it up after work. The guys at the counter are great and they have some cool rides sitting the showroom!

In the same vein, LMC is less than a 10 minutes from the house and they are open on Saturday.

Re: Brothers or Classic Parts

I've ordered from both, but this last time I called Brothers for some windshield and rear window weatherstripping and trim. It was after the first of August and I told him that I wished I had remembered to call sooner for their 10% off they had in July. He told me not to worry about it and that he would apply the discount anyway. It's little stuff like that makes me want to call back and order more.

Re: Brothers or Classic Parts

A few years ago I ordered some parts from Brother's and had no problem. Now I try locally first, then Rock Auto and then Classic Parts.

Re: Brothers or Classic Parts

I ordered some items from Brother's a couple months back. Shipping to Oklahoma was pretty high (can't remember the exact price - I just remember that it was a significant portion of my total). There was also some confusion on shipping. I received only one tracking number, but there were two packages -which arrived several days apart.

I'll look elsewhere first for my next order.

Re: Brothers or Classic Parts

I just want to mention I'm editing my post about classic industries because my last order (back in july) still hasn't completely arrived. I was notified up front of the backorder but a seat cover I ordered is four weeks past what they told me when I called to ask how long it would take and I almost lost the sale of a set of buckets. Prices were excellent with the 20% off coupon they gave me and shipping was free though (for all shipments)
