Question ID My Rear View Mirror

Maybe this will work over here... I am trying to figure out what the mirror in my 69' came out of.
Pics are here: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=478792

I'm guessing maybe an early 60's C10.

Re: ID My Rear View Mirror

It definitely appears to be an early GM mirror, but I’ve never seen that exact flip mechanism before. It may have come in a 60-66 Chevy truck but I’ve never seen one like it in this series. Judging by the type of flip mechanism I’m guessing it’s from an early 1957 GM vehicle, before they improved the flip lever. The bottom mirror in this link might the same as yours, but the flip lever isn’t very clear:

And here are mirrors from a 1958 Cadillac, 58-63 Pontiac, and 57 Chevy, which have similar but not identical flip levers:

Re: ID My Rear View Mirror

Doesn't look like any of those either. I have probably looked at over 100 pics of rear view mirrors and have not seen another one like it yet. It's just one of those things, since I cant figure it out I have to know!

Re: ID My Rear View Mirror

The swivel mounting on the back suggests a later design (for trucks anyway)
maybe '73-'74?
not sure what year they started glueing them to the windshield??

Re: ID My Rear View Mirror

Ok that looks a lot like my Non-Glare Accessory mirror without the black and white housing on the metal flipper mechanism.
There's a GMC part # listed for the mounting arm for trucks.

Picture from the 1964 GMC Accessory Book .

So digging a little further 1963 Lists the Non-Glare Mirror as 987701 and in the explanation says that you twist to have the day/Night affect. It applies to Chevrolet and Trucks. Impala, Biscayne. Now my mirror rocks like the 64 GMC one and when I Googled the part # half are the twist type. Mine came out of an NOS box and my old mirror without the rocker had the rectangular opening.
It also lists the Chevrolet part# for the mounting bracket.
