Thanks for Responding Motornut,
I got it to work now...

Yesterday I stopped by a local salvage yard and picked up a dipstick and a coolant overflow cap for the truck. I checked the level and sure enough it was low... added another quart.

So looks like the amount of ATF needed is about 4.5 - 5 Quarts.

I was able to drive the truck around the block a few times so its all good now....
