Replacing fenders

I've got a 69 GMC with two busted and rusted front fenders. Like many other people before me, I was a bit dismayed to realize that the Chevy and GMC fenders were not completely interchangeable so to speak. Afterall, when I bought the truck, it had a rather solid and complete 69 or 70 Chevy front clip in the bed of it. From what I understand I could completely swap the front clip, but Id be losing the GMC double headlights Im rather fond of. So, should I wait and find a solid pair of original 68 Chevy or GMC fenders or are the reproductions a better route to take?

Re: Replacing fenders

I also know where a 67 Chevy is with good fenders. Theoretically, I could use those and just be without the side marker lights, correct?
