solid back glass rubber gasket question

I got mine from LMC a few years ago and remembered wrapping around the glass and it was so loose it was hard to keep in place while setting the glass.

After we got it up on the cab and pulled the rope to set rubber, it pulled right in nice and tight, looks and works fine.
