Re: What did you get done Labor Day 2011 edition

Christmas in September!! I ripped out all the vacuum and emissions crap, put on new Edelbrock valve covers and air cleaner, alternator, and a new (never used, but been sitting in a friend's shop for years) Carter carb. Carb is total crap right now, gotta take it off and rebuild it this week and get it all tuned up. Also got new headers and 3" dual exhaust, I'll be gettin that on as soon as my Flowmaster 40s get here!!

Re: What did you get done Labor Day 2011 edition

I managed to get the 305 and th350 ripped out of my 84 SWB C10 and got the new motor and tranny almost back in (ran out of time). I am in the process of doing a swap from the 305/TH350 to a 60 over 350 4 bolt main with cam and intake and a 700R4. This motor is the one that I built for my 86 Trans Am just before I totaled it last year. I can't wait to see how she is gonna run now

Re: What did you get done Labor Day 2011 edition

Got some more of the junk off the firewall of my truck (tearing it down for restoration). Found some rust inside of the blower area, but shouldn't need anything more than a wirebrush and some POR-15 to take care of.

Where the rust is:

The rust itself.

Re: What did you get done Labor Day 2011 edition

I installed new plugs and wire set on the 454. The old plugs looked really worn down and caked with carbon. It was time for new plugs.

I think that I may have decided to paint my truck military Desert Tan color. Hot rod flatz has a satin desert tan paint.

My truck is factory gold and tan. I am considering painting the entire truck the desert tan color. What do you guys think?

Re: What did you get done Labor Day 2011 edition

It was one of the two colors I was considering when I decided to go camo.

Desert tan was a really close second!
