The emblems actually look perfect in person...guess you can see the imperfections with the flash. The Sierra grande fender emblems have two good posts on the back...not sure if that's correct or if they had 3 to begin with...

I actually have a cheyenne super one (several) I'll post it this evening. Do you need the emblem also or do you already have that?

I do need the box door and emblem. The P/O removed the woodgrain and emblem to paint it blue, then left it plain with holes.

Okay, I'll take pictures this evening. I'd ship the panel and emblem on the glovebox door it's on....since it's safer to ship that way...but you could take them off and put them on your painted door if you wanted....

I think I might have a black door. I have four cheyenne super doors and the sierra grande one... Want to restore two of them to go with my matching restored door panels and dash bezel so these would be my last two to sell...

I'll post it in the thread this evening. I am 90% sure I have a black one...if not, I'll take pictures of the other doors...you can use your standard glovebox door...you just have to mark and drill the three holes for the emblem. the woodgrain part adheres to a standard glovebox door...

I'll take it. Could you pass on any insight on how to move the woodgrain decal and emblem to the new glovebox?

Cheers,

72 emblem right?

Okay, I'll post pictures tonight. Yes, a 72 emblem.

To remove you carefully pry up under the outer ring of the woodgrained piece....start in one corner or in the middle of one end... if you have a putty knife or a drywall tape knife those work well...
then simply work your way over to the other side. Re-apply with either 3m double stick tape for emblems (comes on a roll or in squares) or some sort of adhesive like liquid nails or epoxy...
The emblem should come out with the door or you could remove it first but risk scraping the woodgrain... May need to apply extra pressure there to remove as there are tabs which hold it into the holes...

Sorry for the long delay. Had to get the camera cord...always goes missing around this house

Here's the doors I have for sale. Honestly the sierra grande door pictured above and the black door are the best. I'd sell the other two for 85 shipped.

OR....I have an NOS roll of the correct woodgrain for the gloveboxes. If you want I will have it professionally installed at a place that does vinyl work and you'll have an NOS looking piece...but of course an NOS price....275 shipped for a door with the NOS woodgrain and a nice cheyenne super emblem...

The black one does have scratches in the woodgrain that can be seen (bare metal) I will put a better emblem on it...

Lots of scratches but no dents

Faded grain and a few small dents (I can have the dents fixed by a body shop friend if I have the NOS woodgrain put on

Here's the NOS woodgrain

NOS tag on box

Re: Cheyenne super and Sierra grande emblems, & glovebox door

Jonathon,.. is the black door actually a GMC door?
Notice the placement of the emblem is lower.
(closer to the bottom edge)

I think GMC and Chevrolet placed their emblems in a slightly different spot on the door.
I'm interested in the black door,... but I think it was originally a GMC door.

Any thoughts?

Which one were you thinking for the $125? And I'd hate to have the vinyl guy redo this just to have me mess it up trying to transfer to another door.

I just checked and after looking at the picture expected it to be a sierra grande...but the spid says it was a Cheyenne super. It was originally yellow and white two tone so it was repainted in black at some point...the surprising thing is on the back it looks like it was black original because I don't see any paint line around the spid or under where an edge is loose???

If I have a shop do it I'll take the woodgrain part off the door and can ship just that if you'd prefer...but I'd probably put it back on a door with a little cheap double stick tape to ship it carefully...

Re: Cheyenne super and Sierra grande emblems, & glovebox door

72peace has first choice since he posted that he'd take a door.

72peace--With the cheyenne super and sierra grande doors both having the emblems mounted low it doesn't matter to me which one you want. If you prefer the one in the first post I can ship that one with a cheyenne super emblem. Let me know if you want one as is or if you want me to have one restored for you.

The other option is I have cheaper aftermarket woodgrain overlays I could give you to install for $20 extra...I also have a matching overlay for the gauge cluster...made by Repops...

Re: Cheyenne super and Sierra grande emblems, & glovebox door

Jonathon,
My only concern, is if I go with one of the Sierra doors the holes for the emblem will be lower and i wouldn't be able to transfer the woodgrain to my door because the holes wouldn't line up...Ok, is the blue on the Sierra door Dk or Med Blue? If Med Blue I could use as is just change to cheyenne emblem. Sorry for the confusion. I'd love to have your guy redo it but I'm on a tight budget and I'm trying to do it as close to right as I can with what I have.

Re: Cheyenne super and Sierra grande emblems, & glovebox door

I honestly don't have one with good woodgrain other than the blue or black one which have the emblem low. The blue says dark blue on the spid label on the back and looks darker than your truck and not up to par with the quality of paint.

I'd do 125 shipped on one with bad woodgrain but include that aftermarket woodgrain aplique for you to put on and a good emblem. Let me know.
