has any one did a 55-59 lwb to swb convertion? I want to shorten a 58 longbed frame for my 57 chevy.

The info in the link that Tow Guys posted is excellent to follow. That should make the spliced frame as strong or stronger than the original frame in that area.

Yes, I forgot to highlight that part of the conversion. That seems to be the way to do that sectioning as it will be stronger than a straight cut.

We have been cutting and splicing class 8 trucks at an angle foe 40 years or so with no failures.

Thanks tow guys,just read the link alot of good stuff.Im thinking that I will do the Z"cut to the Frame.

ok just got the frame shorten.took 9.25 out of the center and will get the bed back on and it looks like about 5" off the rear
