What made it easy was the KY jelly I smeared all over it. The rubber seal slid right into place! For the felt that goes in the division bar I used pop rivets not the ones included. I did have to modify the nozzle on my rivet gun, it wouldn't fit into the channel so I ground the nozzle on each side so it would fit. Mine open and close perfectly and do not leak or make wind noise in the slightest.
The KY jel worked perfectly because once you're finished it rinses right off. Now I use the KY on all sorts of projects, it worked great when I installed the new rubber bushings in my front leaf springs, not to mention it's intended use!

This is the way to do it. Pop rivets make this job a snap.
