November 2011 TOTM

For November our Truck of the Month (TOTM) theme is:

Just a Longing!

Let us check out the criteria or rules in order to compete in this month’s contest..
  • The vehicle nominated needs to belong to a board member during the time of the contest.
  • Open to all years and model truck with a long wheelbase fleetside or stepside bed, to include longhorn models. (No flatbeds in this competition).
  • It must be together and able to move on its own power.
  • The truck has to be licensed for street use.
  • If a truck was selected as a 2010 or 2011 TOTM winner then you are ineligible. If you were nominated but were not selected as a TOTM winner then you may be nominated and compete in this month's category.

To Nominate:

You or someone else may nominate the vehicle. The nominee must be a board member and the current owner of the truck. Once you decide on who you wish to nominate, just add your nomination to this thread. We will need two pictures minimum (at least one full view of the vehicle) with/for the nomination as well as the owner’s board name, the year of the truck, and any other specs of the truck (interior details, engine/drive train specs) that you may want to provide.

Nominees will run through October 24. The first 15 nominees that meet the criteria will participate in the contest. I will PM the nominees to get any additional data or pictures if they have not already been provided. I normally use 1 picture showing a good front-side view and 1 with a rear view of the vehicle in the voting threads. If the owner has a preferred picture they want used in the contest, please let me know in a PM. You can PM me for an e-mail address in case anyone has problems resizing the pictures for the board. A Poll Thread will be set up by October 25 in this board area and an announcement will be posted on the Discussion Boards to notify all that voting has begun. The Poll will run thru the morning of November 1 and the official announcement of the winner will be on the afternoon of November 1. The announcement of the TOTM winner will be posted through the General Discussion Board area.

I'd like to nominate Blazerman's Medium Green w/White top longbed Stepside with K/30 running gear as a fine example of a how handsome just a good ole truck can be up against all the fancy doo-dadded up trucks. I'll get him to post a picture cuz I don't seem to have one handy. BTW,he has quite a nice few other longbeds worthy of this contest as well.

Re: November 2011 TOTM

I'd like to nominate the circuit rider...although I love the trucks listed already....and it seems the 67-72 guys don't win as much recently because they split up the vote and the other years all pick one guy who wins

70cst's Circuit Rider

What about trucks that we have restored but don't personally own? I'd like to nominate the '65 C10 I restored but it's not mine and the owners aren't board members. Just wondering if "sweat equity" counts; I'll play by the rules whatever is decided. Thanks.

Darnit!! I was hoping you hadn't sold it. Better let me know if you still have the gold one, then. If not,I need pictures of the black one (not to put one before the other)

I'm sure it's limited to member owned trucks. There's plenty member owned trucks to make it a hard choice as it is.
