Apache VIN Decoder

I have a 58 Apache....or so the guy who i bought it from says, there are some things about it that make me think its a 59

I tried searching for a VIN decoder online for it with no luck

The truck was built in Canada but all the decoders i found were for US built trucks

Re: Apache VIN Decoder

The serial number should be something like this....

3A59Sxxxxxx

3A designates the wheelbase and 1/2 ton etc....
59 designates the year
S designates manufacturing facility in this example S= St. Louis
xxxxxx production sequence number

This is normally on the drivers door hing jamb on a stainless steel plate brazed to the jamb (at least that is how it is on mine truck).

Hope this helps....

Re: Apache VIN Decoder

if it is canadian built I think they go back that far you can go thru the GM vintage site and for a price get a print out history from them.

This is for 1963 and newer info

Re: Apache VIN Decoder

If it starts with an 8 it's a 58. U.S & Canadian trucks have different ways of writing there serial numbers. When I get home tonight I'll try and tell you what the rest means. I just happen to have a 1959 U.S salesman book and I also have 1959 Canadian salesman book.
