What did you get done 10/23/2011 thread
All i got done was was to get my dashboard cover ordered and sent the dye to the upholsterer who is going to dye it for me. The rest of the weekend was spent on a road trip .. soon we are welcoming a new member to our family and we went to pick her out.. my wife with the new addition

After I got done wasting a beautiful hunting day inside a factory, I sanded and undercoated my new gas tank. That project has been accelerated due to excessive ventilation of the gas tank due to rust!!!

Re: What did you get done 10/23/2011 thread
Helped my 12 year old brother track and field dress his first archery deer that he hit yesterday shortly before dark. He's been having some bad luck lately, and I hardly ever get home from college, so I wanted to spend some time with him. A bad day in the woods is better than a great day at school if you ask me!

Spent Saturday at an annual car show that benefits a children's hospital. This year the show went head to head against 2 other large shows but was still able to draw over 250 entries. My recently completed '50 Chevy won the "Tow Mater's Favorite" trophy! I was stoked!

I scored a good 350 block, which was possibly bored .030, stock pistons, push rods, lifters, valve covers, oil pan, oil pumps, crank, cast iron intake. All for zilch.

Re: What did you get done 10/23/2011 thread
went to the junkyard Saturday, picked up most to the serpentine belt system off a 92 silverado for my 78 stepside. then had to go back today to get the rest of the parts (needed a pulley puller). I pulled the vbelts off the 78, but only go the bottom serpentine belt pulley installed. then I had a fight between my motorcycle, the 78, and myself. I guess I should have parked the truck as far away from the bike as possible since the truck dont run so well without the alternator and water pump. I was the victor, but it was touch and go for a few minutes. The truck shows a scar from the bike.

Re: What did you get done 10/23/2011 thread
Got nothing done on the truck. I should be able to pick it up from the shop Tuesday or Wednesday with another new transmission again. 3200 stall, it should last this time.

Decided to add oil to my transmission, it was running low.. Ended up taking almost a half gallon to top it back off.

Pulled the interior out and installed SilentCoat, removed the old nonworking extra gauges that was in the truck, and a mile of old wiring that I found under the carpet and dash.

I hope you added ATF to your transmission, not oil.

Re: What did you get done 10/23/2011 thread
I took a group of kids and families to Kings Dominion on Saturday. We all had a blast. I saw several hot rods and show cars cruisin up I95. Sadly I saw a massive wreck involving a transfer truck and several other cars on the way back that night. One being a early 70's camaro, probably coming back from one of the shows in Virginia. On the truck side, I got my grille painted in my 84. It turned out nice.

Re: What did you get done 10/23/2011 thread
Wow, it has been a long time since I could actually post in one of these threads!
I spent the weekend trying to get a Mallory 685 ignition box installed in my truck. I went through hell with a MSD 6A and their tech support, and the stock HEI module would always solve the problems. I was hoping to change that with the Mallory box but I spent all day trying to figure out why I had only an intermittent weak spark. Wired the HEI module back up and it fired on the first turn of the starter. So today, I have to call Mallory and tell them this box was DOA and I need a new one. I'm really hoping their tech support is better than MSD's.
