How water tight is your truck bed?

Ol Green, my '68 C-10, has a water tight bed. Every time it rains the bed holds water (where I usually park is a little bit downhill, nose down) I've started backing in so it will drain. I'm thinking about drilling a couple drain holes, you know, because I don't want water standing in the bed. But I hate to drill holes in things.

I've always parked to allow the bed to drain. Drilling holes won't get rid of all the water (ribs and bolt heads). If you do drill, watch where its going to go. Don't want to make things worse. Wait..... you have a panel and a water problem.... might need more than drain holes! :-)

My '71 has two holes in the front of the bed that drains off the accumulated water. They look like they came that way from the factory, but I could be wrong. I am sure that two small holes drilled into the front of the bed where it meets the front panel will solve all your problems. Just make sure that the water that drains from the bed goes on the ground and not into a bed rib or something of the sorts!!!

Both of my trucks have holes on either corner in front of the bed.

X2 they do get stopped up time to time, but all my trucks have them

i've always enlarged the factory stock drain holes a bit. but it doesn't take much for them to get clogged up and retain water in the bed// leaves and pine needles were my biggest problem

If they are kept clean they work good. even the ribs on the floor don't prevent drainage because the ribs don't go all the way to the headgate.

Yep! Mine has those too! Mine usually get stoped up with a small piece of trash, leaves, or even an occasional bolt will plug 'em up!

I enlarged mine a it and they still clog. After it rains I always check. I have a saddle tool box so I have a stick handy to reach under and wipe away any debris. I clear debris on a regular basis. It sucks not being able to store the truck inside or under cover,so a little extra effort helps preserve it as best as possible.
