i got a transmission cross member from suicide doors. looks very nice, beefy.... go to install it and it seems to be real long? i called them up and they say its a tight fit, but to me it looks to be pretty extreme...

i know my frame isnt tweeked or anything.....

any one else comment on their experience???

Re: anyone use suicide doors trans xmember?

I recently installed one in my '85 suburban and they're right.....it's a TIGHT fit.

I had mine on a hoist and used a looooong piece of pipe, as a prybar, to persuade it into the rails. It took a little bit, but it went. Just make sure you have it lined up the way you want it and give it hell. That, and make sure it's properly supported on jack stands or something very sturdy
