1953 Chevy Truck Tailpipe Question

I relocated the fuel tank to the bed area. The new tank fits between the frame. I would like to extrend the tailpipe from the muffler to the rear under the bumper. I do not like the solution of cutting the tailpipes off at the muffler or having them come out at the back of the tires. Have any of you run into this problem? If you have what did you do? Pictures of your solution would be nice. They need to be routed so that I can drop the tank if I need to. All help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
