Merry Christmas !! 52 hood question.

Hello everyone, I have a question about my 52 chevy hood latch. Does the safety latch have a spring or something attached to it? Mine just flops around. If anyone has pics or anything that would be great.

Here is what I think you wanted to see. Small spring holds latch closed.

Oh, that latch.
Yes, it has a small spring that it is held in place by the pin. I really can't get a picture of the actual spring, but the pin goes through the center of the spring and one leg of the spring goes towards the rear and the other leg of the spring goes forward.

Just went out and looked at the spring again and actually it's nothing like I just described. It's a goofy looking thing. Maybe someone else knows where to get a replacement. Sorry.

Re: Merry Christmas !! 52 hood question.

Okay, I did a search and found this hood latch spring for a '58-59 Corvette. This is basically what the truck spring looks like. You can see it in picture 2. I'm not saying this Corvette spring will work, just that it looks a lot like the truck one.Name: Corvette Hood Latch Spring.JPG
