I dont no what I am building haha

Ok boys here we go. I was going to build a 66 suburban that a guy in my hood had. We made a deal and he backed out on me. I was a little pissed. Mario told me to build the 65 I had but I really wanted to stay away from painting the burb. As we all know it is alot of work and time. I will be running 22 by 12 in the rear and 22 by 8.5 in the front. I am running the intro flagstaffs. I have decided to build a 65 burb that I had in my garage. I am joining forces again with Mario Novelli from Novelli rod and customs. He will be doing the body and paint. This should be a crazy cool build. This burb will be going topless and will have the front window layed back. Once this is done I will stand back and look at it. If it looks cool great I will stay with it. If not I will shorten it and turn it into a blazer. I dont want to tell you everything I have planned I will show you guys as I go. Here is what I am starting out with. I an running scotts suspension under this truck. Hope you guys enjoy the build. This one may take some time

Re: I dont no what I am building haha

Patterns are made to box the frame. Shooten up to my buddys house to have him cut them on his cnc plasma table. Ordering wheels on Monday from pts. Not going to box the frame until I cut the top off to see if it needs to be shortened

Eric, Congratulations on truck of the year!

It's so cool that your starting another build. This burb build is going to be Awesome!!! I will enjoy following along as you progress. I love the topless idea. Long or short you can't loose, but with long you get to take a extra row of friends along for the party.

Re: I dont no what I am building haha

I was a little leary about chopping off the top but Mario and his dad were like so pumped to do it I just could not resist. Ordering the wheels tomorrow. Then blasting the burb frame and ordering patch panels and new body mounts. Once I get the suspension set up and the rear end cut down then the top will come off after I support the inside with box tubbing.

Really looking forward to this. Will be interested to see how it looks long with no top. Might be sweet but like you said if the scale is off you can always shorten it....either way it'll be AWESOME!

Re: I dont no what I am building haha

I think topless for sure, I would think maybe 6-8" shorter just to keep it sporty looking. On the layed down windshield are you urathaneing in the glass with no top cross bar?

I also wish I would of just found a clean patina paint truck or already painted. I'm in the middle of patch panels and welding up holes. I hate paint & body work.

Well good luck man I think it will be a killer build

Sounds totally cool. You do such good work so I can just imagine how nice this thing will be.

What made you choose the Scott's gear? Variety is the spice of life??

I want to answer this question. I bought this from delmo. I thought it would help out a member to get rid of something he no longer needed. Plus delmo is a heck of a guy, drove all the way from LA to Sacramento to give me a frame and suspension. Also gave me a posi rear end. So I am happy and so is he. Very nice tig welds on this suspension.so it had more to do with just trying to help another member out and he helped me. Car karma

I am on hold need to pick up steel today and I am waiting for a new notch from Justin at scotts hot rods. I will be bracing the inside of the body this week then off with the top. I am not going to box the frame until i see the body with the wheels under it. So I can make up my mind if I want to shorten her
