4.8 LS into a 77 2wd Blazer

Pulling out the locked up 350 w/ 350 trans and dropping in the 4.8 w/4L60 I'm trying to see if anyone knows the lenght difference between the two. Just woundering if I am going to need to make or relocate the org trans crossmember and if the drive shaft yoke is different

Depends on where you mount the engine, the 4.8/4l60e will be longer than the old 350/350. If you use some aftermarket motor mount adapters they usually, but not always, mount the engine in the same spot as the original engine. In that case you'll need to move the crossmember back, drill some new holes for it, and have your drive shaft shortened. The yoke from the 350 will work in the 4l60.

I got some adjustable mounts that give me the option of moving it forward or back 1 inch from stock. Im not sure if that will help. Im also looking at longtube headers and they seem to have a clearance issue also with the control arm. Im open to sugestions

Got the motor and trans installed. Went in perfect. I did have to slide the crossmember back but it looks like the drivshaft is going to be close to the right lenght. I'm going to have to relocate the ebrake cables a little but not much.

Now on to the exhaust.... I'm wanting a good header, long tube if I can find it but I dont want to spend a ton of money. Is there a header that fits some other LS car or truck that will fit?

DT's are the only long tubes that are confirmed to fit, but there are some other options.
Trailblazer SS manifolds fit great, but are cast and don't flow like a long tube.
I've also seen some Sanderson swap headers that look nice, but I don't know if they would clear both the perches and the frame

Not sure what truck your working with but I used the Sanderson CSLS1 shorties, I really like them and they fit perfectly. also you might go with the TBSS exhaust manifolds, they are supposed to be a real tight fit also.

You can look here on the forum for the DT ( Doug Thorley) headers, they have the 1-5/8" headers that should fit 63-72 and they are long tube.

what perches did you use.

I just used the factoy mounts from the 77 Blazer and some adaptor plates. The factory manifolds that came off the engine fit just looking to get a little extra power if I can
