It's prolly a LUND visor...I think Mudder67 has that type of sun visor so he would be able to tell you better than I where to pick one up...

Sun visor

i have a visor like that on my 1970 GMC K-20 thats on this page. My visor was on the truck when I bought it, it is an old heavy duty fiberglass one. Not like the plastic ones these days. you might be able to find one in a truck accesories magazine or older junkyards.

Here's one I saw going to play in the Sand @ Pismo. Nice paint, huh?

So what's the attraction to the visors anyway? I posted a ridiculously large truck and the visor is the main attraction. Just curious.

'67 Chevy

here is a pic of a 4x4 '67 GMC that was on ebay a while back. He had a dash from a 1995 chevy truck in it and look pretty good. Its a nice looking truck

I have one on my 2wd suburban. As soon as the body prep is done for paint the visor will be gone.It takes away from the line of the truck imo.

That's what I thought too. I love these trucks for their classic lines, and prefer the cleaner truck sans add-ons. I'm guilty of some mods on mine, but mostly functional stuff. I never saw any visors in Ca., but I see alot of them along with racerbacks, bolt-on/glue-on hoodscoops, and other strap-ons here in the Northwest. Seems to be a regional thing. Sitting as tall as you do in these trucks, I have a hard enough seeing up to signals without leaning forward. Certainly no need for extra sun protection. It's been a curiosity of mine since I moved here.

no fascintaion! just want one.

i'm sick to death of seeing trucks with every single bolt-on you can imaginesitkcing out in every direction. i love the body lines too but my truck is not stock.

isn't easier to see the lights because we sit up higher? and anyway being that much closer to the sun things get REALLY bright!

sun visor, cowl hood, heavy duty bumpers... HEAVEN!

I agree too. I hate all the stick ons like the side window visors, racer back, or spoilers on trucks. but the windshield visor on my truck sure is nice to have when the sun is right up there and it keeps the inside of my truck cool during the summer which helps because i do not have a/c or tinted windows. Has anyone heard a whole lot about the new Maxxis buckshot mudder tires, or the Mickey Thompson Radial Baja Claws. I am contemplating between those to for new tires for my truck this summer. ANy info is appreciated. thank you

Wow Alpena65K10, thats Hot!
I was toying with leaving the chrome body trim off when I repaint, but I don't know. What do people think? I'm torn.

I don't know what experience others have had, but I have a buddy who got a little less than 10k miles on a set of new Baja Claw radials. He ran them on highway commute only on a stock Z71.
Have you thought about the Swamper SX Steels? A friend of mine had 1/2" of tread depth after 19k miles, and ran his rig pretty hard up some serious trails. I bought them for my pickup after seeing his Landbruiser, and they've done very well for me. They do highway, mud, rock, sand, etc very well, and if you get them siped, they do reasonably well on snowy roads with some weight on them. They look pretty tough too.
