My Blue 67

Well after owning my truck for a little over a yer now I'm finally getting around to starting a build thread. Right now my truck is my daily driver but soon it will just be a toy. I bought my truck from my cousin who bought it from the estate of the original owner. Was originally a 6 cyl 3 speed. My cousin converted it to a 350 with a turbo 350 tranny. also installed tilt and power steering and power drum brakes replaced the rockers then used it for his parts hauler when he was Restoring his 67 GTO and 67 Lemans and 67 Firebird convertible. This is when I came into the picture. I bought it cleaned the engine bay up and added the wheels. Also been collecting parts so when I tear it down I'll have everything waiting.

Anyone know where I can find the Flip kit for the tailgate handle. Haven't had much luck finding one.

Got most of the welding done today. Still need to weld in the plates I made for the stake pockets and I'm not happy with the fit of the Drivers side Side marker light patch panel. I'm going to cet it back out and weld a new one in. i'll have pictures up soon.

Re: My Blue 67

Thanks. Yea it will stay a long box. Going to have it lowered 4" in front with 2" lower control arms and 2" springs and 4" springs in the rear also want to put a f body Camaro rear sway bar on it and for motor ant trans i'm thinking a nice strong 383 with a 700r4 tranny. And the body and chassie will have lot's of paint powder coat and chrome detail.

Looks like a nice clean truck. I like your plans for it. Are you doing the suspension work?

Re: My Blue 67

Be careful with them I have a friend that had a really bad experiance there with his new suburban. These trucks are really easy to do, let me know I have a buddy up here that does alot this and would most likely save you some money. You would just have to buy the parts before hand. Pm me if your interested. Later, Kelly

Re: My Blue 67

Had a little time to work on the truck today. Got one side welded up and mst of the grinding done. also got all the cross sills and fender wells out. Should be able to get a little more done soon. I'm going back to the metal fab chop I use to work at and I'm off gor the next month. On the plus side I'll be making $7 a hr more than I was so I'll be able buy some parts for the truck easier.

Re: My Blue 67

Nice progress. Wow, what a find with the tailgate! I've got my bed all tore apart and hope to get it all welded back together this weekend. Then off to the frame. Think I am going to build some tubular control arms while I have it torn apart. I'm not far away if you ever need any help.

Re: My Blue 67

Thanks. It's been a slow but steady start. Hope to have it converted to a short box lowered and in blue colored primer sealer by the time the car shows start. we'll have to get together sometime soon.

Re: My Blue 67

Finally got around to working on the truck some. fixed the rust on the drivers side inner kick panel. We'll be fixing the passenger side next week and the roof as soon as I find a patch panel for it. I work in a sheet metal fab shop now with a bunch of car junkies that want to help me lol.
