Just looking for information about 48-50's

anyone know how difficult it is to put a 350 into a 48. my son has a 48 cab that needs work, fenders and a 50 rolling frame. we are hopping to build a custum truck out of this collection of parts, anyone tried it? we could use some pointers on how to put it together so it will handle V-8 power and a 4 or 5 speed but still keep that look.
