TX 1965 Cab & Long Bed Frame - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

1965 Cab for sale. In overall decent condition. Cab has chalk marks on the engine side of the firewall. I don't know if they are from factory or not. Solid overall condition, but the only rust thru is in the floorpan near both kickpanels and passenger side rocker panel and a couple small spots near the driver's rocker panel. Everything else is surface rust. Cab corners and door jambs are solid. Driver side rocker panel seems solid. Passenger side rocker panel is rough.

Firewall, dash cowl sides and wiper cowl area is in very good condition. Transmission tunnel and center section of floor and area under seat is excellent. Back panel and inner roof panels of cab are very good condition. Windsheild flange has only surface rust. Area under front of roof is solid. Someone a long time ago did install roof lights, so there are 6 small screw holes in the roof panel.

The only dents on the cab are on the passenger side rocker panel, 3 on the cab back panel and one below the rear window on the inside.

Unfortunaltely the truck cannot get a Texas title. The truck was impounded before the previous owner purchased it from police auction. I ran around with the TX state DMV trying to get one and after 2 months, it concluded with it not being possible to title in Texas. In TX once a vehicle is impounded or deemed a nuisance vehicle, it cannot get a title. It may be possible to get a title out of state, but I'm not sure.

1965 Long Bed Rolling Frame. Only surface rust. No rust thru anywhere. There isn't any damage or repairs to the frame that I can see. I cannot measure diagonal to see if its square or not because the cab is still currently attached. If you help me remove the cab, then we can take a measurement.

All frame rails look straight with no bends or wrinkles. All cab mounts are solid. By all appearance, the frame doesn't appear to been hit. Transmission cross member is missing, but everything else is there. All joints and grease fitting are caked in dirt and grease. Probably came from a very dusty part of the state. Steering gear is pretty sloppy. Steering linkage seems tight. It has 4 wheel drum brakes and 12 bolt rear end. I haven't removed the rear cover to see what the gear ratio is. I never had a chance to drive it so I can't say how the rest of the suspension feels. Someone did weld on steel brackets to the rear of the frame for an aftermarket bumper, but they should grind off without any damage to the frame because they did a really bad job welding them on. Wheels and tires included.

I'm okay with that. I just don't have any idea how a cab would be shipped. Kinda big for Fed Ex to handle. Any suggestions?

it would have to be shipped by truck. i work for a distribution center im a truck driver. i have a guy at work getting me quotes. im just waiting to hear back. thanks robert
