Re: Caught in the rain!
Ah the memories of my Jeep. No top, no doors, and 33" tires that stuck out of the fenders. I carried two full rain suits, with swim goggles! No snorkles though. The interior was vinyl, but the suspension seats would fill up with water after 20 miles or so.

Re: Caught in the rain!
We used to run topless in our jeeps all the time. Smaller top, easier to deal with Plus the soft tops are pretty common on jeeps. Most all of ours had those too. We liked the zip out windows so we could keep the main portion of the top on. Our last 05 rubicon had a soft top that would flip back from the driver compartment, a sun roof if you will Pretty cool, I miss the jeeps.

Re: Caught in the rain!
jeeps are pretty cool. my buddy has one with 33's and its blast to drive around in during the summer. but imho its not the same as riding around topless in a blazer =D

Re: Caught in the rain!
I'm not so sure about that
Here's the last Scrambler we had, I did a frame off on this one and installed a 96 corvette LT1 with a 4L60E behind it and 4.10's with 32's. This thing would whoop up on mustangs and camaro's, an absolute blast to drive As of right now, I have a 6.0 LS and a 4L60E in my blazer and I still don't think it's quite as quick as that Scrambler was. We'll see if a gear swap will change that |

Re: Caught in the rain!
There are exceptions to everything, and that is one of them. That thing is SWEET! Lol but I was referring to stock jeeps lol. There was a international scout that had an ls7 in it and it ran like a bat outa hell :P

This jeep only weighed 3500 lbs. (without driver) while my 72 blazer tips the scales at a hefty 4650 lbs (without driver). So even with it's 6.0 LS, my blazer is at an 1150 weight disadvantage. OUCH! |

Re: Caught in the rain!
Thanks for the compliment. Unfortunately it turned out too nice to do any real off roading with it. It was my wifes daily driver for a couple years. Then I sold it for a ridiculous offer. Got back into blazers again. I enjoy the more spacious inside room they provide

Re: Caught in the rain!
Gotta enjoy the extra room lol :p looks like youve got some experience with these newer engine swaps. This blazer I'm doing is the first computerized engine I've ever put in a resto project. The 383 in the 82 was a breeze compared to this. Haha. I want to take my blazer to the dunes sometime, we took the 82 to glamis and it was a blast.

Re: Caught in the rain!
That sounds cool.
We plan to take our blazer to the dunes this summer just to hang around and watch the others. Cheap entertainment |

Re: Caught in the rain!
Haha yeah got a little off track. How effective is speeding up when caught with your top off?

Re: Caught in the rain!
On mine, it would just increase the vacuum behind the windsheild and make everything wetter. Highway speeds would turn everything inside black with asphalt.
