Re: welders

I use a Lincoln 170T (?). 035 wire. Could be like a 180T. Cost me a grand after all the gauges, tank, helmet etc. BEST investment I ever made. No problems in over 10 years. I can weld up to 5/16 or 3/8. I can weld new muffler pipe on 50% setting. They will pay for themselves if you are a good welder.

Re: welders

I bought a miller 140(saw it on stacey davids...), love it. It is nice to be able to use it at the shop for body work and other small things, and then bring it home when needed and just plug it into the wall, being a 110v. I bought the welder for 800-900, tank was I think 400 or so, helmet was 300 some. They threw in the gloves and some wire for free since I just dropped a ton of coin after just walking in off the street and pointing at what I wanted. Had it for a year and no problems, doesn't get used tons, but I have done my fair share of small projects.
