aye caramba, THAT'S NICE!!!! And expensive (72 K10 Super Shorty)

A bit pricey for ANY truck... ($65K). CLEARLY not mine, I couldn't afford the hubcaps, but it sure is sweet. Says only 1400 miles... Yet it would also appear to have non-original seat covers too. Hmmmm. Love playing detective, even if I don't know what I'm talkin about. I've seen some of the rest of this collection somewhere - clearly a serious collector - but this is a VERY loaded 72 Cheyenne Super K10 short box. LOVE IT! Just wish could afford it! Enjoy.

Its been restored... Probably 1400 miles since restoration.. Not original miles would be my guess.

Yep, I'm sure you're right. But to get as nut and bolty as the guy did, seems it would have been exact (seat covers, bed wood paint, etc - I thought it was a metal bed the first time I looked). Either way, don't care, that thing is gorgeous, love that little truck.

Nice restoration for sure! But for 65k I could buy all the goodies I've been dreamin' of for my '67 shorty AND have enough left over to build my '68 Buick GS AND get a start on my wifes 67/68 Mustang dream ride.

Re: aye caramba, THAT'S NICE!!!! And expensive (72 K10 Super Shorty)

Rich guys who buy other people's work can afford it. They installed about every option on this one. I'd have to see an authentic SPID to believe it came this way. Oh,and wood bed floors came painted body color. It's true about the houndstooth seat cover being incorrect. Most like them that way these days. But for changing from original,I'd also prefer an olive wheel & column. It's truly a fantastic truck and if I could afford it I could afford to change anything I didn't like. Personally,I's rather pay 1/4-1/3 that much for an authentic unrestored original like Dantip bought recently. But,that's me.

Wasn't it just the 71's that had the disc brake decal on the tailgate?
I know, I know, I'm being picky. Great looking truck.
I just can't see having something that's soooo nice that you're afraid to actually enjoy it.

Beautiful truck, it surprises me they would go into so much detail as to replicate the frame and cab markings and then add options that it shouldnt have like speed warning and tow hooks.

Yep, that's my point with the seat covers, etc. I agree. And I think the Disk Brake sticker is a 71 thing too - 72 had them as standard.

Hey Special K - THANKS, I did not realize the wood beds came painted body color in 72 (my 72 had a steel bed in it). Do you (or does anyone) know what year the bed wood change from lamppost black to body color?? 71? or maybe 67?? (i.e. I'm more familiar with 60-66, I think that's why I was assuming black). Also, weren't all tilt columns black? I assumed that was why - another "must have" option. With the seat covers and disk brake sticker, I supposed he could've painted a black tilt column olive after all!

Thanks for the posts!

All wood bed trucks had body color wood. Nos planks are just black to seal the wood. No stained wood was ever offered, its all done now to make a classy appearance.

Re: aye caramba, THAT'S NICE!!!! And expensive (72 K10 Super Shorty)

I do realize there were never stained wood beds, but just to follow up as to the question - not "all" wood beds are body color - I realize this is the 67-72 side of the house, but that's why I was asking (i.e. 60-66 wood beds are not body color, they're black - from the factory). So, body color bed wood started in 67 then?

Re: aye caramba, THAT'S NICE!!!! And expensive (72 K10 Super Shorty)

I may be wrong, but I believe Stepsides were still black in these years. Maybe not. I figure when steel floors became standard the optional wood floors got painted body color to keep the process simple along the assembly line. Prior to '67,when all floors were wood,it was easy to keep them all the same color (black) and install in a painted body. The same wood (pun, get it?) be true for 67-up Stepsides since all of those were still would (huh? Now we're even). I didn't wanna be all nit picky-like,but that disc brake sticker bugs me. Hey,when a truck is done to be original style it should be correct. True,a feller can still do his slight deviations per personal taste and that's cool (I do it). But,to me,this particular thing just screams whoever built it didn't do their homework. I mean, does it make the tailgate look prettier? Or,does it show whoever did the truck was attempting to add everything possible under the sun? To me it makes me wonder what all else was added that wasn't original. I'd be more impressed with a truck that honestly had 75% of every option over one that someone added everything to. Using a little reserve out classes piling it on. Like a woman with her make up...heh heh

Almost positive that's the truck I saw sell at Barrett Jackson las Vegas in 2010. It brought $43k. If it is it it's a super clean truck.
