Help Stripped bolt...!!!???
I was going to take the top off of my 77 Blazer, first time its ever been off but the first bolt I tried to remove appears to be stripped it just spins and spins....
Anyone else have this happen ?? What is the best way to handle it ?? Thanks for the help ![]()

x2 Drill or grind the head off. The drill might just grab it and spin.

If you take off your side pannel (if it has one). There is a rectangular nut under the edge. you can put a pair of vice grips on the nut, and turn the bolt with a socket or wrench. Thats if it is not one of the bolts on the roof.

Thanks !! Took the side panel off, clamped on the rectangular nut with vice grips as directed and the bolt came right out no problemo..

Took me a while to figure out what you're talking about. That's an Oklahoma Socket Set, son. Learn the names of your tools! Another one that's often mis-labelled is what some folks call a "torch". That's a "blue-tipped crescent wrench". Glad to hear you got the bolt out without too much trouble. |
