My Truck came home today

After years of just sitting I started working on my truck last year. I took it to the shop where I work so I could use the lift and larger air compressor, after about 8 months I brought it home today so I can work on it whenever I have a few minutes. It is only about a ten minute drive to work but I had to catch the owner around so I could get inside since I dont have a key. I actually have more tools at home than at the scrap yard, so I should be able to get more done. I miss alot of oppurtunities to work on it because if the weather is nice the boss is not around to let me in.

Here are a few pics of it on the journey home

Thanks to the Boss for allowing me to use the shop over the last many months.

Thanks, Check out my build thread for more info..... plans are basically to make it look like this. I love the Blue and White, not gonna drop it or anything just go back as close to original as possible.

Hi, What are the two square door's on the front lower bed sides for? I've seen them on other trucks but don;t have a clue. The onlty thing I can think of a extra tool storage area or gas tank?

I'm gonna sip some 'homecoming' suds for you tonight... congrats.
Like the idea of shiny paint and trim, maybe with stock wheels and caps.

Re: My Truck came home today

That picture you sent in is what my truck is supposed to look like, unfortunately it is nowhere near ready to paint. Every time I think I am going to have a little time to work on it something else comes up.

Re: My Truck came home today

Its good to see someone taking it back to original. Not a big fan of dropping them to the ground and (IMO) decreasing the value from an original. ALthough the things that people do with them are pretty amazing. Nice truck

Re: My Truck came home today

Compared to what you started with, that truck looks really good!

You've got a cool boss, too. I think that staying in his good graces will definitely work to your advantage!

Thanks this truck is now really straight and basically no rust, so paint outta be a snap.

The Boss is pretty cool, he likes old vintage chevy stuff too so we share alot of the same attachments for the neat stuff that comes ascross the scales. He is more into 72 chevy p/u and old camaros not so much the 60-66 so he gives me about anything I want for my truck, so I will definetely stay on his good side. =-)

Exactly what I was thinking.... I am going to try and go back with an Original appearance with very few mods.
