74 K 20 Custom Deluxe ...Big Green

my latest toy arrived today. basically an un molested 74 3/4 chevy 4x4. it came with the wheels and 265/75/ 16 E's and a newer ggreat running Goodwrench 350...
I had to have it since it is the same color scheme as my 74 K5 "screaming Green" here are some pics....

now some of the rust.... lol my plans are to bring it back to its original glory and use her as she was meant to be used... work hauling and towing.

got the back up light fixed, the neutral safety/ BU light switch was off the column... put exhaust manifold gaskets in her only to discover she also needed the RH exhaust "donut" shes nice n quiet (as it can be with cherry bombs)
next up try and figure out whats up

with the interior / courtesy lights... im starting to wonder if it is a problem with the head light switch since i removed and repaird/ replaced the dorr jam pin switches... and looked over all the wiring and find it intact cept the white to the drivers door pin switch was cut and i spliced it back together..still nothing....
then i shall replace the front steering linkage since the one on it is so loose it rattles when u jiggle it....

again im not sure how far i will get into restoring her rightaway other than outer floor/ rockers.... i need a truck that im not afraid to drive into the wooods and junk yard haul heavy things with in and behind it...

work has been done, i stripped her down removed rot located a new used OE box and had to rebuild the rear spring suspension. pics as I made progress since last summer. well I guess I will have to post photos another time as I cannot get them to upload

almost done... inner wheel houses in wheels returned to the OE white, just a few more pieces of trim and a few details..... I hope to get rid of the cherry bomb / glass packs might go to OE single exhaust not sure yet..

Any ideas on what color green this truck is? It doesn't look like lime to me or med olive.

I belive they call it sweet apple or swell apple green.

i am pretty sure its called "lime" no it doesnt look like the conventional lime color but it is what they call it I dont have the book with the code here but when i went to a shop for paint they tried to convince me my truck was that color when i lknow its code 568 med green or spring green or killarney green offered only in 74

My dad bought new and still owns a truck identical to this truck. It was a 1975 GMC 1/2 Ton 4x4 350 4 barrel carb. It even has a 2 LOW option on the transfer case. He said he thought he paid about $7000 for it new of the lot. His truck is still on the road and has seen alot of miles Including a trip from Kansas to Idaho when it was a year old. It is on its 3rd engine and 3rd tranny overhaul as well. His truck shows its age but was driven and used everyday and is still used.

Very cool to see one just like it all fixed up. I grew up standing in the bench seat. Gotta love the old trucks!

color looks similar to mine. Medium Lime Poly also known as Spring Green. 41L

Lime Poly is a 75 up color same one they used on cars.... think 76 cutlass... its brighter...

Yeah, I think it is one of the lime colors now. It is in direct sunlight making it look yellower, like the med olive aka yellow green poly. I almost went with that color on my truck; it was my 2nd choice but I still love it.
