Looks really nice assembled.
What's the story on the burb? Is there a build thread on it?

Re: 69 slammed, 22"/24" bbc shaved clean
i can't wait to see this truck all done, nice work.looks like your dash panel has been cut were the wiper and light switch would mount, my truck was cut there too i had to fabricate mounts and weld to the dash, what a pain, now i noticed they sell the complete assembly, that would have been a lot easier.are you installing a custom gauge cluster?

Re: 69 slammed, 22"/24" bbc shaved clean
Here are the last of the interior pictures. Jason from On The Ground Designs is flying in this weekend and we will be doing a photo shoot of the c10. I will be putting it up for sale pretty soon. I just had to finish this truck the way I wanted it but other projects are calling.
P.S. its going to be expensive!! [URL=http://s987.photobucket.com/user/markepierson/media/AUTOMOBILE%20BUILDS/C10%20Pick%20UP/DSC04076.jpg.html][/URL |

Re: 69 slammed, 22"/24" bbc shaved clean
i know we have talked but i didnt know if you had seen these pictures, this would solve your problem with having something smooth that would compliment your firewall and keep all of the water and debri out of your engine compartment while still showcasing the nice suspension....SLOSH TUBZ just sayin

Re: 69 slammed, 22"/24" bbc shaved clean
Today was another great work day in the garage. I have been checking out Kore 3 for my brakes. I really want 14 inch brakes because of the big wheels on the truck. I looked at Wilwood but the $4000 they need for 14 inch front and rear is a lot of money for a truck. I like the ZO6 setup Kore 3 offers......I made the mistake of ordering my wheels way too early in the build. The 5 x 5 bolt pattern was a real limitation.....cool thing is Kore 3 will drill the rotors to fit my wheels. I was working with very close tolerances because of those rear 24 inch wheels because once the truck lays down the tires are really close to the bedside at the top even after cutting out the inner bed liner. You ever notice wheels come down to 1/4 inch tolerance. I swear every time I put wheels on something I am trying to squeeze as much in as possible. I decided this morning to pull the bed off the truck to do some additional trimming in the wheel wells. We have trailer fenders in the back and they still had a lip on the inside edge so I wanted to cut it off. I was going to lift it off with a few guys but I thought why not try the forklift. We extended the forks with some 2 x 6's, got some straps and raised the bed off the frame. I could actually stand up with the wheel wheels above me and grind the edge off. That is some serious redneck fun. Oh ya, and if you see on the right I decided to buy my own welder instead of borrow one as I always have. I got it at Lowes and its the 230 volt Lincoln unit. For what we are doing I think it will be more than we need.
Next on the agenda was getting the hood hinges welded on. Since we had our new welder we had to weld something We removed the front tires and leveled the truck on jack stands, lined up the fenders and set the hood on. We already had the hinges mounted on the firewall.......with the tires off we had room to get up under the hood and mark where the brackets were suppose to go and removed the hood and welded the brackets on. Those bolts will disappear once we get everything welded in. The only problem with these hinges is you see them through the vented cowl on the truck. We decided we will close in the vents on each end of the cowl above the hinges so you can't see them. We are going to have to figure out where to put the gas shocks for the hood but at least we have a hinge on the hood. I curious how you guys mount your air ride equipment. I am really wanting to mount the pump, valves, and electronics on the frame of the truck. Maybe someplace high where we can have a mounting platform so I can conceal the wiring and stuff. I thought it would be better to have all this mounted on the frame so I could install all of it with the bed off. Any advice would be appreciated. Tomorrow we work on front fenders. I really like the SLOSH TUBZ but I had two more of the metal fenders that match the back. We'll be cutting them into the fenders tomorrow. I did have the idea of the panels on either side of the motor but I decided I did not want to hide the brakes and the tubular control arms. |
