Aftermarket Wiring Harness

Im building a 84 c10. Cabs off doing body work to it but Im about to start throwing thing back together. My wiring harness is butchered from previous owners and Id like to just save some headaches and get a brand new one. Not a fan of salvage yards especially for electronics. Are these painless and other brand wiring harness direct plug in with all the correct pigtails? Any help would be great.

I don't really need the info, I just want to thank you for posting a follow-up. I have seen at least a thousand threads where somebody gets pointed in the right direction by a helpful suggestion, but never any follow-up on their findings or conclusions to make it easier for the next guy.

I agree! Google search brought me to many forums and alot of them were unfinished as you stated. Hopefully more people can stumble on this if they need a new wiring harness. I hate having to make new threads but at least it answered my question and hopefully others as well.

i am currenty installing an american auto wire classic update kit in my 71 and so far i am loving it everything is there the diagrams are to die for and all the wires are labeled every 6 inches or so it comes with all teh plugs switchs, key lock for the igniation brake light switch high beam i mean everything!

nobody makes a direct fit aftermarket kit for your truck. you will have to adapt something, even painless that claim it fits your truck

Im glad to hear it, thanks for the info guys. Im going to run some things not standard on our trucks anyway so Im expecting a bit of customizing. Just was making sure all the pigtails were present with the kits. Some of mine are trashed. Drivers side window pigtail is partially melted and someone soldered the crap out of it. I have to push slightly on the door panel to get it to work. Bad wiring is a nightmare.

I am in the process o finishing up installing a Painless Harness in my 72 Blazer and haven't ever rewired anything. I actually got to the point where I got it to start tonight. As long as I have taken my time and read the instructions everything has gone real good. I think it has actually been easier installing the new harness versus taking out the old mess. On a side note, I have found that JEGS will do an online price match. Hope this helps.
