I THINK YOUR UPPER CONTROL ARMS ARE MOUNTED INCORRECTLY. THE ALIGNMENT TABS GO BEHIND THE ARM TO ADJUST FOR CAMBER AND CASTER.

Whats left of my suburban - Narrowed 20" at the grille, 30" at the rear, shortened about 28". I've had it for about 7 years now and it just gets smaller all the time. Started out a super rusty $600 project and I think that was the cheapest part yet.

cojnit, I've been wondering what your Burb looked like based on your avatar pic. Very nice! Love those wheels and side exhaust.

1972suburban---what do you think of the raised letter tires? Ours look almost identical. I will be painting mine glossy black.

Re: Let's see some Burbans!

Here is my project, just started the other day, I got the 70' burb last summer and couldn't decide what to do with it, it's pretty rough all lower panels are completely rusted out, the frame was bent, and beat up quite bad. it had been sitting for ten years in a grassy field, I traded another truck which I basically got for free, so the burb doesn't owe me anything so far. I pulled the body off the frame and rolled a frame from a 86' 1/2 ton 4x4 under. the pic shows basically how it is going to sit on the body after my mounting mods are complete. it is a bit high but the pic looks even more so because of the tiny 215/75/r16 tires, most of the weight is still on the hoist also has no engine/trans/transfercase yet, so it will drop a fair bit i think, going to get another 6 inch suspension lift down the road anyway.

Re: Let's see some Burbans!

I haven't shortened the wheel base yet, I am starting with the body mounting, did you just move the spring perchs ahead to make up for the 4"? Doesn't look to bad kinda getting used to drilling, grinding and hammering rivets out anyway, lol.
I am in the process of moving the rad support mounts back 2" and mounting the original ones from the burb. then I plan to use the ones I removed from the 4x4 frame as the first cab mounts moved 2" forward. looks like everything will fit but i need to add another reinforced brace for the front spring perch(it was part of the old mount i took off).
I am actually kinda curious how it will look with the extended wheel base, maybe I will modify a sideways teardrop wheel opening and leave the axle where it is as long as i put big enough tires on to make it look like a hotwheels toy.

Re: Let's see some Burbans!

That's all i did was move hangers forward....................

Way that's setting now look's like u could get about 35's on it with no more Lift, Think i will go with 4' lift & 33's on mine. Most of my project is just stuff i have sitting around, Just a low buck build

Did you use a template for your camo paint job?
I've got a 71 3/4 4X4 which was camo'd out with paint cans. Need to redo her with a real camo pattern or ?

That looks familiar. My friend bought it from you and then brought it to me to bag it.
