Anyone ever thought about putting a rear window wiper?
On my way home last night, it was raining pretty hard, and I noticed after a little while, I could hardly see through my rear-view mirror, because my window was just so covered with water. Granted, I don't have a bed floor at the moment, so all the water splashes to the back of the cab from the tires, but it made me think, has anyone ever added a rear window wiper? Or do you think it'd be more trouble than it's worth?

Now there is something I have never thought of. Probably because I try to not drive in the rain, but I wouldn't think it would be necessary.

I have RainX on the window, but it still gets pretty bad and hard to see, probably more from the mist coming from the tires. Just a random idea that popped into my head, seein' if anyone else has ever thought of something like that.

Yes, it's been done. Every imaginable accessory was added to this snow plow rig, including a rear wiper. The owner was evidently so proud of his truck that he was afraid to use it. 5300 actual unrestored miles.

Re: Anyone ever thought about putting a rear window wiper?
I think it would be a useful addition for a working truck, but on a classic truck it may be cosmetically difficult to install a wiper motor and make it look decent on the interior side. It would also seem to be most practical on a big window. A small window would have to have a tiny arm and blade like on a chopped top.

I wonder if you could use one of those magnetic aquarium cleaners to manually wiper the window.

Or perhaps one of the street rod remote cable drive setups could be mounted in the cab corner behind the seat with the drive end fished into place through the pivot hole and the dome light opening. Here's an example:
