side note: Didn't want to start a whoel new thread, is there any major risk in plugging the compressor switch in backwards? i.e. you put the plug on backwards, the switch itself is installed right but the plug... I couldn't really tell which way it was supposed to go on so I stuck it on, now it wont come off.

When I turn on the AC and slide it over to the point that it engages the switch the engine weakens a little (so it's obvious that it's engaging 'something') so I'm assuming it's right lol.
