Oklahoma - Gold Mine!

I just got back from a road trip that went through Oklahoma. You guys have a gold mine there. My wife was laughing as I kept spotting old chevy trucks just sitting out in yards or fields.

I struck gold when I drove by a parts yard and saw a 71/72 Chevy sitting out front which had a solid and straight tailgate. The guys there said they would sell the whole truck and not just the tailgate. So I made a cash offer and they changed their tune. I ended up strapping a rust free tailgate to the roof of our car for the next 1200 miles.

If you are near Atoka, OK, there is a nice parts truck (minus tailgate ) on the west side of US 69/75 a few miles south of town.

I'll try to get over my jealousy for all your parts trucks.

Enjoy it while it lasts. A lot of these still languishing in fields, but most of the yards in my area crushed all their older stuff a few years back.

The same is true here in S.Arizona on a lot of the Indian Reservations. Just as you stated, Goldmine!
