Axle question?

I was curious which way to go with this swap:

Axle #1- 1967 Chevy C10 stock(I6 with a 3spd manual)
Axle #2- 1968 GMC C10 I was told has a mini spool & 3.73's.

I want to use the 3.73 & spool on my 67. What is the best way to swap?

Pull both axles apart and swap pinions or cut all the mounting brackets? Also any advise on how do this would be great.

Re: Axle question?

Cutting the spring perches is pretty easy, as compared to re-gearing it.

Do you really want to run a spool? Have you ever ran one on the street?

Re: Axle question?

I have ran a spool in a Blazer. I rather have a locker but funds are saying, "run what you have". I should also mention I don't know how to weld.
