20 inch wheel issue...need a hand

im wanting to put 20x8 inch wheels on my 83 stepside, with air ride, and if i do this the tire will hit the inner fender before i get the truck all the way down, and in pa we need inner fenders for inspection, ive seen pics of people using trailer fenders, i was wondering if any on had done this with the same size wheel could show pics or explain how to mount the trailer fender to inside of fender, my only other option is to run 18 inch wheels if i cant figure this out, thanks alot

Re: 20 inch wheel issue...need a hand

If you plan on a set of trailer fenders under the hood, then I would look at a single dual wheel trailer fender and cut it in half to start with and then cut to length with to fit from the front of the wheel opening and reach back to the firewall. Cut the side of the fender off to align with the outer fender body shape and then make brackets to bolt the fender to the front of the wheel well at the bottom of the body mount and also at the firewall. Using a good urethane sealer, seal the trailer fender to the outer fender along the body line.
