Steering rod & heim joint help

Need some help is this going to work?
Is the support heim joint suppose to go on the lower rod or upper like i have it
in my mock up picture

The way you have it in your pic will work as long as your mid u-joint is not in a bind.You might want to put the front part of your truck up in the air.Then turn your steering wheel left and right lock to lock.You will be able to see if anything is in a bind or catching.If it is all smooth you are golden and will work great.

when they say the u joints
are supposed to mach and be in unison
Are the red dots in my picture supported to be lined or the yellow dots

personally, i'd like to see the heim joint down closer to the mid joint
loosen the nut on your heim joint and see how it does with wheels on the ground; lock to lock.
it will probably bind or lock
the heim joint should fully support the mid joint
the other 2 are supported by the column and the rack

using your existing bracket, unbolt the heim and bracket and see if you can affix it down at the mid joint.
then loosen the nut again and do the lock to lock test, it should not make much difference.
